Kids of Courage
Kids of Courage Is a program for kids to learn about our missionaries and the countries where they minister. They also learn about their brothers and sisters in other countries who are not free to worship God like they are. The kids are able to learn the importance of supporting the work of spreading the gospel and also helping fellow believers at a young age.

How can kids support missionaries? Prayer is the MOST important thing we emphasize! We tell about the difference prayer makes in people's lives. God's people MUST pray, and each prayer makes a difference...even a child's! The kids are each given a world globe bank to place their offerings in, and return with the next month. They are taught that every cent counts, as God takes pennies and turns them into miracles!

So what does Kids of Courage do with the money? We send all of the offerings which kids (and some adults) contribute to Voice of the Martyrs. It is then used to purchase supplies which missionaries need to help spread the good news of Jesus around the world. It also provides for the persecuted church in many other ways.

Providing our children with the atmosphere to develop a heart for Christ and missions is very important. We want our kids to have giving hearts rather than selfish hearts. We want them to be aware of the needs of others and realize that they can make a difference! A survey done among missionaries shows that 85% of them felt called to become missionaries while they were between the ages of 9 and 13!

Our Kids of Courage group is for kids from age 4 through 6th grade. We meet during the main service time on the first Sunday of the month. The kids are dismissed from the sanctuary shortly after announcements, and go to the gymnasium. They are encouraged to bring their world globes, and wear their red T-shirts. We sing, learn about another country, and learn about a true missionary's story. We focus on a different continent each month. Right now we are studying Europe. We also have a snack or do crafts. We learn songs which we sing for our church and our community. Our kids are taught to be proud of Christ and His gospel, and to boldly take His truth into our world!

Did you know that the people of France make perfume, croissants, crepes, quiche, and escargot? In France over 23 million people are atheists, only 5 out of 100 people have a Bible, and there are more witches and fortune-tellers than there are doctors! Ask your child, and see if he/she remembers learning this in Kids of Courage. Remind him/her to pray for our missionaries in France.
